ABOUT US

The Birth Of Mitzvah Tank USA

In 1974, the Mitzvah Tank hit Manhattan streets. An ordinary van transformed into a mobile hub for Jewish outreach. Decked with Chassidic melodies and bold signs, it aimed to bring mitzvot to people on the move.

Under the guidance of Rebbe - R' Menachem Mendel Schneerson, students reached out to fellow Jews, offering tefillin or Shabbat kits. Their mission? Making mitzvahs accessible, whether it meant helping someone light Shabbat candles or guiding them through Jewish practices.

Over time, these vans evolved into mobile classrooms, keeping the goal unchanged: Encourage Jews to embrace mitzvot wherever they are.
